מרכז ויניקוט שמח להזמין לערב חגיגי לרגל חלוקת הפרס הבינלאומי של מרכז ויניקוט בישראל לכותבים מרחבי העולם לשנת 2017, שיתקיים ב-6.2.16 בשעה 19:30-21:15 באודיטוריום סמינר הקיבוצים, ברח' שושנה פרסיץ 3, תל-אביב.

20:00-20:40 הרצאה (תרגום עברי יוקרן על המסך) – Rachel Sopher (LCSW, is board director, supervisor, and faculty of the National Institute for the Psychotherapies Training Institute (NIP), and faculty member of the Stephen Mitchell Center for Relational Studies. She is senior editor of Psychoanalytic Perspectives: A journal of integration and innovation, and is in private practice in New York City)

An Allegiance to Absence

Patients who have suffered early, traumatic loss often describe feelings of emptiness and a lack of faith in human relationships. This internal absence can produce a clinical situation that often feels empty, “as-if,” lonely, or deadened, leading to potential difficulties in the course of a treatment. Using the metaphor of phantom pain as a point of departure, this paper explores the theme of absence, and the ways it may be experienced and articulated at differing levels of development and of reality, creating a chain of levels that became meaningful through repeated experience of enactment and representation within the therapeutic relationship.
