בימים אלו נערך בארה"ב המירוץ הארוך ביותר באנושות - 3,100 מייל.

בראיון שנערך עם קובי אורן, פסיכולוג קליני, תוך כדי ריצה, הוא אומר:

"Every time a person comes, on the one side, is difficult because they take time from me... I need to do work. But each israeli who comes here and give me a hug and tells me they are concerned and they want to help me- that’s…. I’m lacking of words."

Interviewer: Kobi, Good morning, you do! you run, you walk, you fly. It’s me trying to keep up with you. So describe what’s happening in the last eighteen to nineteen days how are you doing?

Kobi: It’s been a very difficult voyage here. There are many things that we need to consider, when we talk about being here. If you won’t focused me, we won’t have an answer.

Interviewer: Well Kobi I’ll-

Kobi: I need to walk, I can’t talk and walk- and run, sorry. Ah, there are a lot of fields of being here, there is this, the cause, and there is our house, where we take care of ourself and sleep. And race is very difficult ‘cause each day you face with a lot of unexpected accidents,  let’s say it that way. You need to manage that, and you need to run a certain quota,  you can’t just go to sleep each kind of a day. So there is a point, at least for me, of some pressure because I need to work here, I came here for work. I have a lot of internal expectation of myself and I need to finish this race. I have seen myself as a person who represent his country. I can’t make mistakes and ruin my race. So I need to be very causite**

Interviewer: Oh Kobi, you said you knew it’s going to be a voyage to discovery. Are the things you’re ** learning now, that keep learning new things practically every day because it is so difficult.

Kobi: There is nothing like this; i’ve done so many races, so many multi-daily races, this is not the same. Each day stands by it’s own, it’s a very partial say in what I just said because you gain distance  And I have distance which gives me some comfort because I have a little nest egg of kilometers-miles that I walked very hardful. But every day I need to- it’s a survival, every day is a survival.

Interviewer: Or one thing that seem to be you can take pleasure in, is it you’re setting new records for your country every day. The fact the moment you’ll over a thousand miles, and set a new record for a thousand miles. You have many many achievements to be proud of.

- פרסומת -

Kobi: I have many achievements, there are all my achievements, the second israeli who will need to break each of my achievement, but this is not the point here. The point here is that each day, for better or worse, has it’s own life. And you said to me about the records, what I’m doing but it doesn't matter. If you have a good lap-that’s it, you’re like -it sounds bad- but you’re like a goldfish in a fishbowl. You have a good lap-that’s amazing, you have a bad lap-that’s stink. And I can’t go for days and telling to myself “Wow, you’re the man, well done, you set new records, I’ve done here something amazing with a thousand miles”, it’s not in my mind completely. What’s in my mind- every day I go to sleep in a pray -in a pray that I’ll wake up. I’m not greedy, I’m not praying to wake up without pains, and I’m not greedy, I’m not praying to a day that will be a day of all smiles, but I’m praying for a less painful day, and a day with more smiles. What makes my day is first of all my crew, and they help me have a skeleton crew because I didn’t have enough money to raise a full crew; so I have four and a half hours of crew, and when they are here it’s a ray of light. And israelis who come to support me, that is amazing, people who don’t know me, and they come and they hug me and say kind words, and they don’t know me, nobody of the israelis who came here don’t know me and that is amazing. Every time a person comes, on the one side, is difficult because they take time from me, and as we said earlier, I need to do work. But each israeli who comes here and give me a hug and tells me they are concerned and they want to help me- that’s…. I’m lacking of words.

Interviewer: Thank you.

Kobi: Thank you very much.

Interviewer: There is no question that Kobi is doing phenomenally well. If the step he’s taking now he’s going further than he’s ever gone before. It says he’s setting a new record in his country that have never even been done before. Here it is on day nigenteen, we did the interview this morning, and you can see that he’s going through a lot. Every day is extremely difficult but the little things that makes difference in his life are how people come by and gives him a hug. Even though is slows him down that kind of friendship and that kind of support helps him, every pass the way**. Day nineteen, take care.
